Just where India's border kisses Nepal in North UP, there lies a unique and diverse ecosystem like no other. The Dudhwa Tiger Reserve! The word Dudhwa means milk and refers to the white misty mornings that this jungle offers. A mosaic of Sal forest and grasslands, it boasts of Tigers, Leopards, Asiatic Black Bears, Sloth Bears, Swamp Deers, Elephants, Cheetals, Hog Deers, Barking Deers, Sambars, Wild Pigs and even Rhinos! Besides, there are 400 bird species that call it their home. A mere hour's drive from the borders of this amazing wildlife refuge is an understated luxury in the wilderness – the Jagir Lodge of the Tree of Life! The Lodge is an amazing coming together of period antique furniture, beautiful wall-paper patterns, rich upholstery and an overall feeling of opulence.
